Obituary for Carl Burgess

Carl Burgess, 89, husband of Artie Vance Burgess, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017. He was born August 31, 1927 in Scott County, Kentucky to the late Theodore and Lura Donovan Burgess. He was a member of Northside Christian Church. Carl was a former employee of National Distillery, and also served in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion and loved hunting and fishing.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, David (Raejean) Burgess, and daughter, Karen (Jack) Murphy, both of Georgetown, grandchildren, William Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Braden Burgess, and Camden Burgess, great grandchildren, Shelby Murphy, Jed Murphy, and Canon Murphy. Carl is preceded in death by brothers, Gene, Frank, and Ray Burgess, and sister, Margaret Hagy.

Visitation will be 10:00 am-12:00 noon, Friday, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. Services will following visitation at 12:00 noon, Friday, at the funeral home with Minister Jason Brown officiating. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Camden Burgess, Braden Burgess, William Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Ricky Brown, and Jack Murphy serving as pallbearers.
