Obituary for Clara Mae Harpole

Clara Mae "Boop" Harpole, 94, widow of Charles Harpole, passed away April 15, 2017 at her home in Georgetown. She was born April 23, 1922 in Scott County to the late George A. and Alama Koepke Kettenring. She was a former employee of Kentucky Department of Revenue, a member and a Sunday School teacher at the First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, and was an avid Rook player and was part of a bi-weekly rook club.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Kim) Harpole of Georgetown; grandsons, Chad Allen (Brandy) Harpole of Georgetown, Clifford Edward Harpole (fiancée, Taylor Sterry) of Lexington, and Charles Conyers "Chase" Harpole of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Leo Kettenring of Stamping Ground; sisters, Alma Noel of Pendleton, Indiana, Irene Kettenring of Georgetown, Emma Carey of Middlesboro, Kentucky, and Eunice Searcy of Frankfort, and special dedicated caregiver Katie Beach. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Kettenring and George Kettenring.

Funeral services are 1pm Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Redditt officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers being Chad Harpole, Clifford Harpole, Chase Harpole, David Beach, Leo Reed, and Kim Hutton. Honorary bearers are Earl Searcy, Leo Kettenring, Dr. Matthew Birdwhistle, Kenneth True, Roy Kettenring, George Edward Kettenring, Richard Kettenring, Lew Hoffman, and Gary Hoffman. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators formally Hospice of the Bluegrass 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
