Obituary for Delbert "Del" McMaine

Delbert "Del" McMaine, 85, husband of Vi Fanno McMaine, passed away June 20, 2018 under the care of Hospice of the Bluegrass. Born in Bybee, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Elbert H. and Floie B. Estes McMaine.

He retired from the United States Air Force in 1972 after serving 21 years. The family moved to Georgetown and he worked at John Graves Ford Memorial Hospital and Scott General Hospital, retiring in 1984.

While stationed in Oregon he met and married the love of his life, Vi McMaine. They were happily married for 62 years. He was a regular attendee of Porter Christian Church, enjoyed UK Basketball, fishing and traveling, especially to Oregon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) McMaine of Owensboro, KY and Dr. Lynne McMaine of Danville, KY grandchildren Sarah (Blake) McMaine-Render of Bowling Green, KY, Dr. Travis McMaine of Lexington, KY, Kate Wray of Knoxville, TN, and Brian Wray of Cold Spring, KY, one great granddaughter, Paysen E. Render. He is also survived by a sister, Wilma Hedden of Frankfort, KY. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian Goebel

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, June 25, 2018 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Bennie Robbins officiating. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 am until time of service on Monday, June 25, 2018. Serving as pallbearers are Travis McMaine, Brian Wray, Kenneth Barefield, Blake Render, Ronald McMaine, and Jerry Spaulding. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care Center, 1 St Joseph Drive, Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY 40504. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.tuckeryocumwilson.com
