Obituary for Elmer Thomas "Tom" Vance II

Elmer Thomas "Tom" Vance, II, 62, husband of Kathleen Mefford Vance, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at his home. He was born October 15, 1954 to the late Elmer Thomas Vance and Geneva Hinton Vance in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a member of First Christian Church. He graduated from Georgetown College with a Bachelor of Science degree, and worked as a System Analyst. Tom was a partner in Capital Software and also a partner in Instrument Life. He held the position of President of the Scott County Educational Foundation. Tom was an avid collector, loved to play the organ, and was a former member of the Scott County Singers since 1974. He had a love of gardening and especially roses, and he was a former member of the Frankfort Rose Society. He was active in the community and greatly enjoyed the Cornbread Supper Society.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Duane Perry (Cheri) of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, his daughter, Renee' Christopher (Rob) of Georgetown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Dillon Graves, Katelyn Graves, Victoria Perry, William Perry, Brynleigh Perry, Danny Eckler, and several other extended grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be 4:30-7:00 pm, Thursday at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home. Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Georgetown Community Singers, ATTN: Lin Foley, Treasurer, 134 N. Broadway, Georgetown, Kentucky.
