Obituary for Fred L. Franklin

Fred L. Franklin, 81, husband of Louise A. Pruitt Franklin for over 38 years, passed away June 9, 2018 in Georgetown, Kentucky. He was born September 1, 1936 in Wayne County, Kentucky to the late Callie Franklin Poore. He worked as a machinist for American Swiss and Preferred Stamping. Fred enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and in his early years playing the guitar. He was a former band leader and played music on the Monticello radio station in Monticello, Kentucky .

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughter, Ima Kay (Roger) Brewer of Jackson County, Kentucky; grandchildren, Travis (Erica) Lowery and Jennifer Lowery both of Georgetown; great grandchildren, Jayden Little, Kaleb Little, Bailey Lowery, Kinsley Lowery, and Aubrey Lowery; sisters, June (Harold) Barge and Alene (Ferrell) Johnson both of Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Horton officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers Chris Parmley, William Catron, Scott Catron, Roger Brewer, and Jerry Jones and with honorary pallbearers being Gene Atkins, David Barge, and Jerry Barge. Visiting hours are 5-9pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at
