Obituary for George "Pud" Lancaster

George "Pud" Lancaster, 92, husband of Betty Stokley Lancaster, passed away April 22, 2017. He was born February 15, 1925 in Stamping Ground, to the late G.W. and Olivia Lancaster.

He was employed at IBM for 32 and a half years, and was a member of Great Crossing Baptist Church. He was a member of Scott County 4-H Council for 17 years, in 1979 he received the Outstanding Male 4-H Leader award, and he was a former member of the Bluegrass Area 4-H Council. He received the Scott County FFA Alumni Grandparent award in 1995 and the Pioneer Farmer Award in 2004. He was an Army Veteran and served in Okinawa during WWII.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Stokley Lancaster his son, Keith (Melissa) Lancaster of Stamping Ground; his daughter, Kay (John) Drake of Danville; brother, Jack Lancaster; grandchildren Keith Wayne (Karen) Lancaster, Ashley (Lance) Mertz, Megan Lancaster, Lindsey Lancaster, Jonathon Sutherland, Molly Lancaster, and Zach Sutherland; and five great grand-children.

Funeral services are 11am Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Ray Roach and Rev. Ashley Drake Mertz officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lynn Renfro, Johnny Griffin, Keith Wayne Lancaster, Randy Crouch, Jonathon Sutherland and Wallace Wilson. Visitation is 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
