Obituary for Johnny Tate

Johnny Tate, age 76, of Stamping Ground, Kentucky passed away at his home on Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born September 15, 1941 to the late Beura and Alice Keith Tate in Owen County, Kentucky. Johnny was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Owenton, Kentucky, a member of Scott Lodge 702 F&A.M., was a self employed backhoe operator and he retired after 43 years (1974-2017) of service with the Masonic Cemetery. He also enjoyed going to car shows.

Johnny is survived by his children: Georgia (Jerry) Creech of Georgetown, Harold (Betty) Tate of Owenton, and Johnnita Raymer of Frankfort; 6 grandchildren, Shelly Manning, Jason Wright, Matthew Tate, Khristian Ervin, Johnny Lee Tate and Hanna Bennett and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Wanda Miller of Frankfort and several nieces and nephews. Johnny was also preceded in death by his sisters Bettie Jo Thompson and Addie Mae Cook.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5 to 8 Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Masonic Services in the evening. Services will be 1pm Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service at Masonic Cemetery in Stamping Ground with Jason Wright, Matthew Tate, Johnny Lee Tate, Trey Manning, Clint Ervin, Quade Manning and Sage Manning as pallbearers. Honorary bearers will be Albert Miller, Mike Mullins and Billy Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 1317 US HWY 62E, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.
