Obituary for Mary Alice Pratt

Mary Alice Fair Pratt, 100, of Georgetown, Kentucky passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born on September 6, 1916, in Tennessee, to the late Bud and Ruth Lawson Fair. When Mary Alice was a young child, she moved with her family to Hindman, Kentucky, where her father worked in the coal mines. She married Wiley C. Pratt in 1934 and they moved to Georgetown in 1954. Wiley and Mary Alice Pratt were married for 63 years until Mr. Pratt's death. Mrs. Pratt was employed by the Scott County Schools for many years working in the Scott County High School cafeteria and was a long time member of Great Crossings Baptist Church. Mrs. Pratt was an avid gardener and quilter. She is survived by five of her six children and their spouses. Billy and Dottie Pratt, Deer Park, Texas; Brenda and Paul Stone, Jr., Georgetown, Kentucky; Michael and Mary Ellen Pratt, St. Charles, Missouri; Margaret and William Keith Kenley, Stamping Ground, Kentucky; Phillip and Martha Jane Pratt, Georgetown, Kentucky. Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Martin Loftus, Kissimmee, Florida. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11am Tuesday May 2, 2017 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Ray Roach officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens with pallbearers being Ben Stone, Paul Stone Jr., Ryan Pratt, Tyler Pratt, Russell Bruin, and Tommy Loftus. Honorary bearers are Teresa Pratt Graham, Mary Loftus Lewis, Patti Loftus Estes, Amanda Pratt Quinn, Sarah Pratt Hubbard, Mariah Elizabeth Pratt, Robert Miller, David B. Glass, Marlene Clark, Virginia Lee Pratt, Anna Lee Devers, and Cecil McKenney. Visiting hours are 5-8pm Monday at the funeral home.
