Obituary for Mary Frances Moore Cooper

Mary Frances Moore Cooper, 93, widow of Junius L. Cooper, passed away September 29, 2017 in Georgetown. She was born August 31, 1924 in Scott County, Kentucky to the late Edward Riley and Addie B. Owens Moore.

She was a member of Great Crossing Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency. She was one of the founding members of KCCD over 50 years ago, and had been actively involved with the organization until recently. She retired from the Department of Corrections for the State of Kentucky after 44 years.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Robert G. Moore and Karen Donnelley, Tommy and Patty Case, Linda and Rick Portwood, Marylou and Greg Henderson; great nieces and nephews; Rob Moore (Lisa LaBeau), Megan (Ryan) Howell, Jamie (Samantha) Gifford, Niki (Chris) Brandenburg, Kelly (Miron) Christopher, Kayla (Adam) Day, Julie Steffey, Allen (Ashley) Case, Heather Portwood, and Ian (Jo Ann) Portwood; great- great nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Molly Case, Riley Steffey, Joshua Portwood, Aeden Gifford, Julia and Taylor Gaines, Levi, Laurel, and Lawsen Brandenburg, Kala and Keegan Christopher, Raelyn and Charlie Day, Eden Moore, Evan and Addy LaBeau; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wiley and Josie Moore. She was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Robert A. Moore, James E. Moore, David C. Moore, and Orah Lee Grubbs.

Graveside services are 2pm Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Georgetown Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Carr officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Case, Allen Case, Rick Portwood, Ian Portwood, Joshua Portwood, Greg Henderson, Jamie Gifford, Miron Christopher, Chris Brandenburg, Levi Brandenburg, Rob Moore, Adam Day, and Ryan Howell. Honorary bearers are Nicholas Case, Aeden Gifford, Lawson Brandenburg, Charlie Day, Evan LaBeau, and the Deacons of Great Crossing Baptist Church.
