Obituary for Nicholas T. Tirlea

Nick Tirlea passed July 12 in Lexington, KY to be laid to rest with his wife of 51 years, Martha Jean (Allen) Tirlea. He leaves behind 2 sons, Nick and Jeff, a daughter-in-law, Arianna, 4 grandkids, Jesse, Nicholas, Hannah, and Jacob and 2 great grandchildren, Jack and Nicholas. Nick was a 1962 Niles McKinley High School Graduate. While in high school he enlisted in the US Army and spent 5 years serving his country. The last year he served he taught Foreign Allied servicemen the radar and controls of the Hawk Missile System. He was honorably discharged in 1967, attaining the rank S/SGT E-6. After the service Nick completed his degree at Youngstown State. He was President and Engineering Manager at Ward Transformer, Raleigh, NC 1978-1982 and same title at Interstate Transformer in Georgetown, KY1982-2000. After retiring from industry, Nick taught at Bluegrass Community College for 10 years. His greatest joy in his later years were his children and, most definitely, his grandchildren.

Nick is also survived by his brother, Dan Tirlea of Columbus, Ohio, and sisters, Jeannie Rook of Lordstown, Ohio, and Sandy Robinson of Vienna, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nicholas and Mary Caizza Tirlea, and his brother, Robert Tirlea.
