Obituary for Ruth Hutchins

Ruth Hutchins, 93, widow of Earle Brown Hutchins, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017. She was born September 30, 1923 in Mercer County, Kentucky to the late Stephen Walter Kennedy and Ama Horn Kennedy. She was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church for 70 years and also a former Sunday school teacher. She shared her Christian faith and love by entertaining and cooking for her friends and family. Ruth was a member of Scott County Woman's Club, Scott County Women's Democratic Party, and also a tour guide for Ward Hall. She retired from the Scott County School System as a cafeteria manager.

Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Paul Staker of Georgetown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Staker, Robert (Regina) Hutchins, Michele Haynes, all of Georgetown, and Peter Hutchins (Heidi) of Louisville, great grandchildren, Ethan Haynes, Emily Kate Haynes, Caroline Hutchins, Max Hutchins, Jude Hutchins, and Cruz Staker. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Stephen Hutchins, Sr.

Visitation will be from 10 am-12 noon, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home and services will be at 12 noon with Rev. Ken Holden officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with pallbearers being Steve Sullivan, Jeff Alcorn, Dwight Hammonds, George Lusby, Harold Stacy, Tom Prather, Rusty Sowers, and Charles Gregory. Honorary pallbearers are Alton Boyd, Bob Barlow, Bob Gregory, Quint Meek, Leroy Khoehn, and Rollie Graves. Memorials may be made to Bluegrass Navigators (formerly Hospice of the Bluegrass), 1317 US Highway 62 E, Cynthiana, KY 41031-7970.

Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 11am to 1pm at the church

Funeral:
Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 1pm at the church

Interment:
Georgetown Cemetery
