Obituary for William Clifton "W.C." Marshall

William Clifton "W.C." Marshall, 90, husband to Nancy Beam Marshall for 70 years, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 in Georgetown. He was born September 15, 1927 in Scott County, Kentucky to the late Halcom and Alice Florence Marshall. He was a member of Newtown Christian Church, farmed all his life, and retired as a Federal Tobacco Inspector. W.C. was a 1945 graduate of Garth High School, a former Board Member of Southern States, Scott County Democratic Committee, and held the title of a Kentucky Colonel. He worked with the FFA in regards to growing tobacco and teaching how to grade tobacco. He worked for years with the Scott County Fair in judging tobacco. At the age of forty he caught the bug to fish and for twenty five years he and Nancy traveled to Florida to fish.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his granddaughters, Tabitha Anne Toomey (Nick) Clark of Moorefield, Kentucky, Tiffany Marie Toomey (Jason) Rose of Georgetown, Kentucky, Trinity Joy Toomey Hampton (Jeff Montavon), great granddaughters, Kimber Marie Rose, Bailey Abigail Rose, Lauren Grace Hampton, Hannah Lynn Clark, great grandsons, Hayden Lee Clark, Bradley Scott Rose, and son-in-law, Paul "Skeeter" Toomey. W.C. was preceded in death by two daughters, Virginia Alice Toomey and Teresa Anne "Terrie" Marshall, brother, Halcom Vaughn Marshall, sister, Betty Ruth, and half brother, J.B. Marshall, and half sister, Shirley Berry.

Visitation will be 4-8pm, Monday at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home. Services will be 12noon, Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Kris Bentley officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Doug Marshall, Jackie Ruth, Brad Wilson, Patrick Wilson, Jim Wilson, Danny Clark, Greg Clark, Richard Jones, Johnny Jones, Jason Ruth, and Jacob Ruth. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Wilson, Dr. R. C. Giles, Wally Parrish, Sam Halter, Gordon Wright, Wallace French, Sam Arnold III, Sam Brawner, and Bobby Young.

The Family is forever thankful to the entire staff of Dover Manor for their impeccable care and unending love and support and attending not only to our loved one but our family and visitors as well.
