Obituary for William Christopher "Billy C." Mohrmann Jr.

Wm. Christopher "Billy C." Mohrmann Jr., 84, husband for more than 39 years to Karyl Flinn Mohrmann, left his earthly body surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Georgetown, Kentucky to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born July 13, 1933 in Skullbuster (Scott County), Kentucky to the late William C. Mohrmann Sr. and Eva Mae Humphrey Hymer.

As a young man he worked at Carbide Products and eventually became a farmer. He made a living raising tobacco, cattle, and pigs to provide for his family. In the late sixties the family moved to the city and he began to work in law enforcement from 1969 until he retired, including service as Chief Deputy Sheriff of Scott County. He loved telling stories of the good old days and hard times. He was a charter member of FOP Lodge #59. He was a long time member of Northside Christian Church, where he also served as Deacon for a number of years.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his 3 daughters, Debbie (Gene) Murphy, Rita (Bobby) Mattingly, and Diane (Terry) Burge; 7 grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Murphy, Shannon and Casey Mattingly, Christie, Jennifer, and John Michael Burge; 8 great grandchildren, and his most loyal loving canine companion, Stretch.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Alma Doan and Janie Gaines both of Georgetown; 5 brothers, Donnie Jean and James Warren Spears, Raymond, Larry, and Michael Hymer all of Bowling Green; 3 sisters, Ann Gibson, Arnetta Alcorn, and Brenda Lewis all of Bowling Green; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Kenny, Johnny, and Frank Allen Mohrmann, and Estill Hymer Jr.; 2 sisters, Charlotte O'Brien and Louella Mohrmann; his step mother, Vivian (Boochie) Mohrmann, and step father, Estill Hymer.

Funeral services are 1:30pm Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Northside Christian Church with Rev. Chester Palmer and Rev. Darrell Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Active pallbearers are grandsons and grandson-in-laws, Joshua and Jeremy Murphy, Shannon and Casey Mattingly, John Michael Burge, Patrick Bowlin, and Levi Courtney. Honorary bearers are George "Spanky" Ammerman, Brian Damron, Henry Elam, Tommy Payne, Mike Duncan, Michael Flinn, Sandy Cook, John Goble, Doris Mehs, Dr. Raymond Wechman, Becky Sams, Rhodes Carr, and Teddy Porter. Visiting hours are 5:00pm-8:00pm Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the church.
