Obituary for Jay David Skaggs

Jay David Skaggs, 56, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born April 14, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James Paul Skaggs and Margie Marie Thomas Gafford. Jay was a member of the Teamsters, and loved being a truck driver. He lived in Chicago, Louisville, and Lexington. Jay was an avid sports fan, and also loved umpiring and coaching baseball. He was very close with his family.

He is survived by his sisters, Sherry (James) Jarvis of Chicago, Illinois, Darlene (Brenda) Skaggs of Lexington, Kentucky, and Donna (Dave) Anderson of Wheaton, Illinois, numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Jay is also survived by his step father, Richard Dean Gafford of Sadieville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by a sister Gladys Anita Laureys.

Visitation will be 2:00-7:00pm, Friday, April 27, 2018, at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home with service beginning at 7:00pm. Minister Vince Garmin will officiate the service. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.tuckeryocumwilson.com
