Obituary for Carlon Everette Williamson

Carlon Everette Williamson, 79, husband of Laura Stepp Williamson, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born September 2, 1938 in Cinderella, West Virginia to the late Roy and Versie Williams Williamson. Carlon was a member of First United Methodist Church. He graduated from Williamson High School in 1956 in Williamson, West Viriginia where he played basketball. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, and earned the level of Eagle Scout. Carlon was a part owner of Prather Brothers, a former employee of John B. Penn Company, a Kentucky Colonel, and a resident of Scott County since 1975. He retired from Kentucky Cabinet of Transporation. He was a member of Canewood Golf Course where he loved to golf. Carlon enjoyed fast-pitch softball, bowling, and watching Kentucky Basketball.

Along with his wife, Laura, he is survived by his son, Marty (Lou Ann) Williamson of Georgetown, Kentucky, daughter, Dedra (Tom) Scott of Indianapolis, Indiana, grandchildren, Bobby (Alicia) Williamson, Josh Williamson, Daniel Scott, and Hannah Scott, great grandchildren, Addison Williamson, Berkley Williamson, and Lincoln Williamson, sister, Judy Ledbetter of Georgetown, Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carlon is also survived by step children, Natalie (Kirby) Kirch of Portland, Oregon, Lisa (Mark) Engelman of Pheonix, Arizona, Jim W. (Mary Jane) Loudermelt of Portage, Michigan, and 7 step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, George Williamson, Audra Slater, Dorothy Hassloch, Glenna Sandefur, Norma Fitch, and Avonell Radcliff.

Memorial visitation will be 1:00pm-3:00pm, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with memorial service at 3:00pm with Rev. Andrew Singh officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Williamson, Josh Williamson, Daniel Scott, Bill Jones, Charlie Snodgrass, and Lindsey Murray.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1280 Lexington Road, Georgetown, Kentucky.
